  • Richter wasn't pleased with the final outcome of this "experiment", and in documentary made in the 90's he even resented the photo shoot that accompanied the release, or the premiere, saying that them three Russians "looked like idiots smiling" out of courtesy.

  • of course it's mahvelous

  • @allegramente5000 Would you please elaborate on your theory?

  • Karajan totally looks like alan rickman in this photo^ except more handsome :D

  • Can anyone tell the name of that documentary which is discussed here in the comments?

  • Only Heifetz,Feuerman and Rubinstein compare in this masterwork Superb! TY TLS

  • Probably the tension in the recording session partly accounts for the artistic success.

It wouldn't be too far fetched to say that this collaboration between Soviet artists and the western musicians paved the way to the fall of the Berlin Wall.

  • Thank you for posting this great version whith three great masters.

  • A great conductor is a great leader.Without Karajan this great work was not so great before.Really the greatest star was the great Maestro.I like the other great artists too and are among my favourites too.

  • Three sacred monsters of classical music.I love this concerto,I love them!Thank you for posting!
