What makes it worse are their leaders are washed up hippies that did the same thing and still are after all these years. Their leaders were led down this same useless path and manipulated and they still haven't grown up and graduated.

This solidarity is what binded those in the Gdansk ship yard while they protested the right to unionize. It is what fueled the courage of 10 million poles in a year to join the newly allowed Solidarity trade union in spite of the looming danger. The recognition that human beings are special and have rights brought down the world's second largest super power because it was built on a foundation that denied this truth. True solidarity must have as it's foundation this truth.

True soliarity is realizing each and every person is made in the image and likeness of God. And because of this they are VERY VALUABLE and should be loved and treated with respect. God made it so and gave them certain inalienable rights. The right to live is one of them. Whether the person was just conceived, born, or is fully matured and a few years away from dying. They should be treated with love and respect. Or do you just want solidarity when it politically suits you and your agenda?

If you want to know what true solidarity is look at Lech Walesa and the protest at the Gdansk Ship yard. Where an unemployed electrician gets up on a fork lift and gives a speech at the spot where the Communist killed their comrades years before. Where they barracaded the place and placed crucifixes and pictures of the Black Madonna on the barricades all the while the Soviets are massing troops on the border to invade. Where they protestors see each other as made in the image and likeness of

i agree. but for those of them who aren't scatter brained, and those scatterers who want to do something and get involved, perhaps they will actually learn to think for themselves and not just go along because they think change is cool I happen to be a student at OU (where this takes place) and I do think that OU needs change If nothing else, just change in its financial matters (such as bonuses to big wigs/big wigs' wives who don't do anything and don't need them)

People are scared to say what they really feel.

This is just another example of someone who thinks he will make a difference but in the end its just for personal gain. If enough people really believed in the idea then students might actually do something about it instead of talking about doing something about it and feeling brave.
