Everyone please keep Aretha Franklin and her family in your prayers and remember that God will hear them all.

In 1994 Aretha Franklin received the Kennedy Center Honors. That evening my VHS recorder malfunctioned and only recorded the video of the program. I was horrified. But I decided to save the beautiful picture montage and add a music track. Here is the result. Enjoy!

  • Check out the description in the video to help explain what happened and why I don't have that part of the show.

  • Aretha Franklin was the YOUNGEST recipient EVER to receive the Kennedy Center Honor at 52! Thanks for the upload to give us a glimpse of that memorable night!

  • Thanks for adding that fact. I did forget about it until you mentioned it. Thanks also for taking the time to watch and respond.

  • @vwsmusic Thank you for bringing that out. Stevie Wonder is among my favorites, and he received the honor 5 years later in 1999. Those two have great respect for each other. Perhaps, I should have said Aretha is the youngest female recipient ever to receive the Kennedy Center Honor. Now, we pray that she overcomes whatever ails her and be with us for several years more to come.

  • @soulbrotherman With all due respect, Stevie Wonder was the youngest recipient ever at age 49.

  • Magnificent!!!! Great Tribute to the Queen of Soul

  • One of my favorite singers, Aretha moves me. The greatest R&B singers of or time are Aretha and Diana--totally different from each other vocally but both possessed of melody, rhythm and musical intelligence.

  • She's such an amazing artist. Her music really is immortal. I mean i threw on her cd recently and my niece was diggin her. But still, Tina Turner is the Queen....hehe....(had to throw that in)....Thanxs for sharing the video

  • THANK YOU

  • Please, if anyone can help me...!! from where can I get her pictures...Am fan of Aretha Franklin and would love to get those pictures..! Many Thanks ..!!
