Bryan and Karen placed second in this competition to the then 10 times World Champions Donnie Burns MBE and Gaynor Fairweather MBE. Bryan and Karen carved up the opposition, smashing the form book wide open from the moment they hit the dance floor. Going from 6th to 2nd in the world within 18 months. Unheard of before, or since, for a brand new partnership to do such a thing. Karen came straight out of Amateur and Bryan had been off the floor for quite some time after stopping with Claudia Leoni.
