What`s the point with a roll after the saw?

Why do you don`t use the splitter?

Working nice, but way to slow for professional use.

I have not had time to redo the way the splitter works. When I first built it, the splitter was not part of it. Most of the time the larger wood falls into the splitter fine and I have a four way head. This is for my own use and so I do not spit the smaller stuff, only 12" and above. It is slow because I am limited to 20gpm of oil from the tractor and I have to split and let the saw have only 13gpm. Need 2 stage pump with higher gpm. Thanks

You did all this just for the 3-5 cords you might need for the winter? for your house? Wouldn't take much more to be a patentable commercial processor.

I think it's decent. But you're cuttin sprouts. And , the power unit. That old binder , wit the picker. it has more hyd.. an HP.. than that ford on a 540. I run a homemade straight out wood spliiter. I run a 540 pump on a 1000 shaft. 1066 international. I run a fast idol. I just need ta split it . I cut it with a ps7900 DOLMAR. or 3120XP husky.

That's a lot of fuel just to buck some logs. Could probably do it faster with an 046 stihl and a sharp chain...probably wouldn't be as entertaining though.

I don't personally think that its the flow rate that is making this so slow. 13GPM seems to me to be plenty of flow, what about changing gear ratios or sprocket sizes for the feed rolls and a smaller diameter cylinder for actuating the saw bar and a smaller displacement hydraulic motor on the saw bar for faster chain speed????? Just a thought.

I would like to see this machine to cut KS hedge wood , The thing I don't understand is why you have to handle each log by hand after it is cut? i have seen a machine that puts the speed of your operation to shame I will try and find the video of it a and pass it forward to you, Your cutter is very impressive:)

very nice work...... i always wondered is it a ton of work for you to get and skin out those logs to get them ready for the machine....... here we end up cutting down big trees and splitting them and we get all sizes of stuff
