  • LOL! I like the camera in your sink line. Now when I had an ancient stove like yours I found that there was one burner that got hotter than the others. That was the "lead" burner. I found getting my water warm on another burner helped the other burners to get up to heat faster and hotter. Then when I was ready to cook the noodles I would crank the hot burner and boil. If not I think it sucks the power from the other burners. Did that make sense?

  • The camera was really on a tripod in my sink! (o:

I DO know what you're talking about - we DO have one burner that works like it's on steroids! Hahaha!

    Great tip! thanks!

    Blessings!

  • Can someone please tell me why you add salt to the noodles? I've always seen my family do this but never knew why.

  • Hi!

    Good question!

It really is a flavor enhancement thing more than anything else.

Pasta is rather 'bland' without being boiled with some salt.

Feel free to try it without (esp. if on salt restricted diet) and see if you notice any difference....it won't 'hurt' the cooking process.

    Best Blessings!

    Thanks for watching the video!

  • Hi Donna!

Glad you saw my humor (the horror etc) . I think you did a GREAT job! I don't think I could have done this dish @$1pp or the video--especially *without a camera man*. My hat is off to ya and am looking forward to your next cooking adventure on video :)

All the Best and Happy Holidays

  • Hi!

Thanks for the dictionary pronunciation guide! I needed that! Go phonics!

Yeah, I'd love to have a gas stovetop, but alas on a tight budget, you got what you got! Thighs and cheap ingredients as well, fall into that category (o:

Since frugal food was the main point for this video, that's where we lead from. I'd LOVE to fix it your way and offer a 5 star dish...for now I'll just dream of it...(o:

Thanks for the post! It made me smile!

    Best Blessings!

  • Cooking on ELECTRIC????

    The HORROR!

    THIGHS?

    The HORROR!

    --

I'll stick with GAS, and premium ingredients: Pecorino Romano cheese, Parmigiano cheese, Heavy Cream, Fettuccini or Farfalle [Bow Tie] Pasta, Salted Butter, fresh skinless deboned Chicken Breasts, pan seared Italian Sausage bits, French Extra Virgin Olive Oil, fresh Garlic, Sea Salt, fresh Ground Black Pepper etc.

N.B. Of course this will run FAR more than $1 per person.

Finally, " Neufchatel " is pronounced "NEW sha TEL".
