Paul Ryan: What Washington Doesn't Want You To Know

Mr. Speaker, Wisconsinites might want to know that just recently our Blue Cross-Blue Shield program announced that people in their 20s under this health care bill will see a 199% increase in their health insurance premiums. People in their 40s will see a 122% increase in their health insurance premiums. People in their 50s will see a dramatic double-digit increase in their health insurance premiums. 214,000 Wisconsinites might want to know that their Medicare Advantage plan that they enjoy will be either dramatically more expensive or will go away completely. The American taxpayer might want to know that government estimators are telling us that this bill will cost $1-2 trillion in a new health care entitlement, which will surely add more deficit and debt to future generations. The shame of all of this, Mr. Speaker, is that we could fix whats broken in health care without breaking whats working in health care. Republicans have offered 40 different pieces of legislation in an attempt to get bipartisan compromise, to make sure that the uninsured get insured, that people with preexisting conditions get health care, and that we do this without breaking the bank, without raising taxes, creating new debt, new deficits, and new entitlements.

this guy should run for prez. he has balls. and thats what we need in this governent, someone who is not afraid to say whats logical and also do it, like why do we have an unbalanced budget? he would say, lets look at the books TOGETHER as a people. lets have the books and all the decisions that politicians are making open to the public so that we can KNOW wtf they are doing and so we can CATCH a mofo when they are wrong or just stealing from the taxpayer!!!!

The first was inconclusive (as stated in the acticle), then progressives quote Adam Smith (1770) to explain why 21st century capitalism is not understood by conservatives lol? If that's not a joke then how about we go back 50 years instead of 250 and quote Robert Byrd or other beloved southern Democrats and their beliefs of Democrats in the 40's on racism? @F1reF0rEffect One, it's the Republicans who have a borrow mentality. The Dems have more of let taxes pay. Which is why Bush had a huge debt at 35% and Clinton with 39% had a pay as you go. @jrwel14 The GOP borrows overseas? lol that makes no sense. As for the fact that 50% of Americans pay 0 taxes that is a fact. Payroll taxes are Social Security - that is for yourself not the rest of the country. To be explicit - the amount of taxes (that don't go towards your own shit) are payed by the upper 50%, the bottom 50% pay ZERO yet get all the same benifits. It's no wonder to anyone with a half a brain why liberals think it's such a great idea for the rich to pay more.
