------------------------------------------------
Japan Society recently held a special screening of Tran Anh Hung's latest film "Norwegian Wood". Adapted from Haruki Murakami's novel, originally published in 1987, and since translated into 33 languages and published in 36 countries.

With writer/director Hung and actress Rinko Kikuchi in attendence, Nihon NY took the chance to sit down with both and discuss their relationships with the novel, creating a "Japanese" film, adapting a novel with such a large fan base and how the language of film crosses cultural boundaries.
