    Isn't it better to use slow motion effect in a program like Premiere Elements than to use the ELPH's built in slow motion?

    Yes, if I wanted to take a full HD video and slow it down, but having the ability to make a quick slow motion clip on the camera is pretty neat.

    Oh I understand. I was just saying... to spark discussion or whatever. I'm still learning the ins and outs of this camera after almost two months of owning it. I haven't had a camera in about 6 years. Everything's changed now. I'm wondering if you did do slow motion in something like Premiere Elements you could still retain the 1020p video.

    I haven't tried it yet, but slow motion in 1080 would rock. If you get a chance to try it, let me know how it turns out.

    Can you bump up the resolution from 320x240?

    @vijay0428 @vijay0428 320x240 is the limit for 240fps, but I can get 120fps at 640x480.

    No. Not to the same effect. Post processing slow motion just stretches the frames over more time. You're still seeing no better than 24fps video (this camera records 1080p at 24fps).

    This feature actually records 120fps (640x480) or 240fps (at 320x240). Such high framerates can capture action you couldn't possibly see at 24fps.

    So it is better to slow down while filming if you can than to do it post-production?

    For very basic casual filming it's fine. Not for windy days or any kind of gust. I filmed a dog sitting under the American flag waving in the wind. Very windy day so it was a nice video shot. But the sound was just aweful. What I plan on doing is giong back to this same American flag and recording with a Zoom H1 which I've owned for almost a year now. I will need a wind protector even with that... as the H1 even though it has great sound, wind will distort sound.
