  • You, sir, are incredible. Any tips for someone wanting to learn jazz bass?

  • @mmadk5 Know your scales, chords, focus on the groove, sing the notes you play...

  • amazing man.. so how did you do the scat? isnt it difficult to scat singing while youre improvising??

  • Not so difficult, in fact. I just sing the same notes I play, so i´m not really doing two different things, in my opinion. I tend to hear inside of me the notes I want to sing, and play them on the bass at the same time, for me is pretty natural to improvise this way. It´s much more difficult to harmonize with your voice the notes you play with the bass. I do that in some of the other videos of the channel, though, but it´s not easy to improvise and harmonize the two voices at the same time

  • u ahve very interesting tone... are you playing a ken smith bsr6???

  • @rehtrem That´s right!

  • The “bloom bloom” you talk about is a one-note bass loop from myself. In 2:22 you can see how I press the pedal in my effects floor unit to stop the sound of the loop of a low B from my own bass. And if you watch the whole tune, "Latinajo",

you´ll notice when I press the pedal to begin the loop, just as the piano solo ends. You can like it or not, but of course I´m playing. In my channel you can find some similar scat and bass solos.

  • cool. it was a surprise to hear Jacos Continuum at 1:59, just the beginning...

  • I like this

  • I bet this guy does not smoke pot

  • that's cool, my bass teacher made me sing solo's when i first started to improvise because he thought that melodies you thought in your head were better than the ideas you could play as a beginner, so I scatted solos and worked with soloing while scatting until i matched the note I scatted to the note I played!

  • I love this

  • Noooo, se corta en la mejor parte jajajaja Debe ser divertido hacer eso, lo he probado pero todavía no me sale, exitos
