can't see it, but the guy says it's a timber rattlesnake (crotalus horridus)...can deliver a nasty bite, though it's usually pretty docile...easily the most docile of the rattler species...
Even for an expert, it's doesn't problematic to catch a venomous snake, but 90% of incidents, under professionals, like wildlife biologist and herpetologist happens after the handling by release, into the nature or in a transport "container" / bag.
