When staying at a friends house in NJ, I heard this tapping noise and saw Downy Woodpeckers.

  • These chaps are cool. Is one a male and one a female?

  • Yeah, the male is upside down and the female is up top. The little red spot at the back of the male's head is the Identifier.

  • I have two pair of these guys at my feeder. Its nice to have breakfast on the deck in the morning when the feeder is full of birds.

  • Yeah, they are pretty cool. I can't have a feeder where I live now because its a condo... but I do enjoy going into the woods to find them in their natural habitat. This video was shot in NJ at my friend's house.

  • This is great! The woodpecker family in my tree flew the coop before I bought a video camera, I never reorded a clear video of them on my still camera.
