I always think of the years when Charles Munich was in Boston as the golden years for that orchestra. I have heard them in recent years with James Levin and they seem to have lost that special quality - this recording reinforces that view. Wonderful!

My spirit floats through time and space through this beautiful music.

Thank you for uploading this performance. I have heard other wonderful performances of the Berlioz Requiem, including a live Colin Davis performance at St Paul's Cathedral in London, but this rendition always seemed just right for me, in terms of performance of the BSO and NE Conservatory Chorus, and the expansive, yet reverent interpretation of Charles Munch. Also, Leopold Simoneau is always right for french music, in my informed opinion...
This piece was so well-used in "The Tree of Life".
