Dorothy Collins and Bing Crosby joined forces to sing the Mills Brothers' hit "Glow Worm" with a new set of cute holiday lyrics by composer Johnny Mercer. Here Bing and Dorothy have fun and look marvelous in color!
@damone77 Yeah, the original song (of which the pop version is just the chorus) was in German & published ca. 1903. Later, Johnny Mercer wrote new verses for the American jazz version that the Mills Brothers recorded.
Then Mercer wrote these alternative lyrics for the holiday seasonal version too.
FANTASTIC! I'm a Bing Crosby Fan Club guy, and have seen alot of offerings on YouTube and other locales, and never saw this one....how special, really well done duet. Go Bing and Dorothy. THANK YOU for posting this VT2! ! ! Hopefully some more Bing lurks out there--do you have the B/W appearance on (maybe his own show?) where he sings "I Left My Heart in San Francisco?" Many thanks in advance if you do.
so rap!
