Our economy is tangled up right now. People are worried about their jobs and their futures. So how do we start to fix the problems? Given that we have a long race in front of us, we need to get back to basics. We need to do the hard work that makes us stronger and we need to have clear goals and plans to keep us on track. It all gets back to common sense government. We need a government that sets the rules and creates a level playing field for all competitors. We need government that lives within its means.

Right now, Washington is borrowing 43 cents out of every dollar it's spending. We have to stop the spending and start thinking about providing the best service at the lowest price. When I was governor of New Mexico I saw how running the government is a lot like preparing for a triathlon. When we make good decisions, they build on themselves. Every lap in the pool, every spin on the bike, and every run prepares us for competition. Then there comes a time in every race where we have to dig deep and to push through and the results are worth it.

Do you want to keep America the strongest country in the world? Do you want to do the hard work it's going to take to restore fiscal discipline? It all starts with you and me. This is about America. LIVE FREE.

-- Gary Johnson

  • America comes first. That's why I'm voting for Gary Johnson.

  • To win Gary needs to stress the importance of the 10th! everything needs to go back to the states. if californians want single payer, they can vote on it, pay for it and have it., same goes for climate policies, gay marriage, high speed rail and marijuana. If floridians want to drill, georgians want religion taught at school, suv's, and rare beef they can have it too. the only way for a libertarian republican to win is to hand everything to the states.

  • This is one of the coolest political ads I've ever seen. Gary Johnson is the man. He is exactly what this country needs...a sensible mind with Libertarian values that attract people from the right and the left.

  • @xXxmrcashxXx an it looks like Rick is a quiter....

  • I thought his other ads were great. This is the best one I've seen! Ron Paul/Gary Johnson 2012.

  • What did he say he would even do? He's a talker not a doer

    Rick perry 2012!

  • Gary Johnson, you have my support! Right now I am offering my financial support to Ron Paul because I know he can win in 2012. I would love to see you in office in 2016 or 2020, when Dr. Paul is done with the presidency. Any other person would just be a return to the establishment, with policies that support invading other countries and arresting our own citizens.

  • Oh and look... Johnson has even fewer dislikes than me lol.

  • I think Johnson is more on track than maybe he gives himself credit for. The default expectation going into this was that he would flounder against Paul but would be able to establish himself for 2016. That Paul would lose in 2012 but his ideas and momentum, along with the collapse, would be enough to put Johnson in position for a 2016 win. America's Gorbacev. I think that's how it's playing out. Except for the fact Paul is outperforming expectations. Good problem to have.

  • @jonathanmollet1 sorry, i just don't buy into climate change as a theory and i'd favor doing nothing at all. in fact i cannot think of a time when govt got involved in anything that their cures weren't worse than the disease they aimed to treat, the enviroment is no different. california nevertheless had an impact on auto manufacturers when it set emission stds. property rights could be used to counteract real environmental problems. i get very scared when they talk about global policies

  • @58robbo -Climate policies do not work on a state or even national level. Anyone who tries to push them through is ignorant of this fact. If your neighbor is still polluting just the same you will still have pollution. Unlike people, goods, and services the air around cannot be confined by any border so we need an international solution if we are going to do anything at all. I'm a libertarian and a GJ supporter however on environmental issues the smaller government idea simply does not work.

  • Gary Johnson is by far the best candidate to run against Barry Soetoro in 2012. I watched him in New Mexico while he was governor and was impressed by his effectiveness. I hope his message gets more attention, America depends on it!
