  • we own one of his granddaughters and she is a sweet little filly

  • @goldenbear1950 - I couldn't agree with you more. Excessively yanking on the stud chain for no reason. He already KNOWS it's there and is standing quiet. He doesn't need to yank on it and push his neck away. He is already respecting his space. I have a TB, ex-racer from the track who thinks he is still a stud but knows when he can play up and when he can't.

  • We own one of Storm Cat's grandsons.

  • hes not bay hes black

  • If you all want to absolutely ENJOY this magnificent specimen, go to this site I stumbled on couple of yrs ago after seeing the short video by cf1970 of Storm Cat Romping in His Paddock. Google - type in studslife Storm Cat and read the excerpt by Kevin Conley fm 2002 when he visited Overbrook Farm. You'll LOVE it !! Wonderful stuff and esp comments by the vet and farm owner re. Storm Cat ! Actually think he's not doing study duty anymore, think I read he's retired.

  • @bladeofbattousai your comments on Storm Cat have me chuckling.... and "he's not a lamb." when I first learned of him saw 15 sec by cf1970 here and couple of yrs ago googled Storm Cat and found a webpage called studslife. Google that and Storm Cat and there's an excerpt by a Kevin Conley, you'll enjoy it and it'll make you smile as they talk about SC at Overbrook Farm and his life as a stud.

  • @MrTrees4u YOU MUST BE VERY PROUD!!! CUZ YOU OWN A HORSE FROM SECRETARIATS FAMILY TREE!!

  • I own TA PEPSI SPECIAL A Storm cat decendent. She *Pepsi* Is Coming four... keep your eyes open for her and her best buddy Qualita Creek *MEA* comin 8. Both Special effort lines Pepsi has Storm cat lines. Pepsi is a pup and always wants in the middle of everything.. smooth as a 3 year old to ride ( just 3 months on). I will begin more riding come the 2012 season... Take my time.... she will be a hell ofa barrel horse.

  • If I was an owner of Storm Cat I would have demanded that groom be fired or removed from the care of my horse. Complete ass.

  • I own one of his grandsons....he's incredible...but a handful sometimes...definitely got a mind of his own!

  • Did you see the fluid on his right knee? It was collecting there. He's getting older and sometimes horses do collect fluid like an old man or woman will on their knees. But no, it's not cruel but, you do have to be careful around studs. There was a woman in the Uk who is a trainer and one of her studs grabbed her by the throat and tore her voice box out! She can't speak again.

IF they're breeding, their weight can go up sometimes to 1200 or more pounds and that's alot of horse to handle.

  • I don't think he's shanking Storm Cat, he's tugging the chain to keep his attention and keep him from getting any ideas. Given his rep of being a mean S.O.B., they are being cautious. They warn the guy of him kicking in the video, and he's trying to gnaw on his handler--he's not a lamb.
