Sadly, it's mostly just WW v1.5. If you're looking for a true successor and sequel to the GC version, this one doesn't quite make the cut. But it sure as heck takes the cake over WW.

No. People say its just an upgrade but its not. Its the GC and DS versions added together with tons of little and big new touches

They have things from both. But in the long run, it's basically just an upgrade of Wild World. The GameCube version is far superior to this. =\
