@metalschmo I agree. There is a tendency to accept the original as the ONLY Phantom, Valjean or whatever. If no one came along who were better (or different) the world would be a very impoverished place to live. I've never been fan of neither Crawford nor Wilkinson. But again I'm coloured by the singers I first heard in those roles and the same goes for everyone else.

I personally never really understood the obsession with Michael Crawford. Yes the man is very talented, but to me, no one will ever have the passion, the power and the tone of The Great Anthony Warlow. The man not only has a gift, he IS a gift to us all. God bless you Anthony, you are an amazing talent and ur voice never fails to move me. Forever MY favorite Phantom.
