its a cvt transmission and also it doesnt sucks for an 16 or 17 year old's first car...id recomend them to young drivers.

Hey man, it's not one gear. But don't worry, because i thought that before find out that it has a CVT Transmission.. "Continuous variable transmission". Learn about it in google, there are a lot of demos that show how it works.. In fact you can drive it in tip tronic (semi automatic) mode y you pull the shifter right and left and you have 1-2-3-4 and think 5 saved gears. They don't have the best aceleration, but it seems that it has a great fuel economy. I hope mi comment help you

no real dodge caliber automatic was the most terrible gear. I'll recommend starting with one maunellen. But I would definitely not use the with 1.8-liter engine. Take the 2.0 liter diesel engine.
