About these pieces:
These two Bourree's are part of a full Solo Cello suit in C major. (Six total dances in C major) The first Bourree is in C major and is a piece I have been working on for a while now. I love playing it and is a challenge to play.
The 2nd Bourree is in the parallel minor. (C minor) It is very obviously a starker and more dark piece than the former. This is a challenge because
the overall mood is so different than the first Bourree.
I repeat the first Bourree after the 2nd Bourree because on my recording of these pieces that is what he (Janos Starker) did.
About these pieces and myself:
Alright, first of all, I know these are not perfect. (Please be kind in your comments, as there are a few hiccups)
I have always loved playing these Cello suites and I have always wanted to do a video of it. I used to play several of these solo Cello pieces. They are so much fun and difficult to play. A real accomplishment when you have one (Or more than one) of them down. I have seen videos of bassists doing these with amazing arrangements and chord voicings. Truly inspiring to watch those videos.
I am however, playing it how it is notated in my book. (Probably not as inspiring LOL!)
I hope you like this and maybe even explore listening to, or playing them yourself. The Book and Artist:
The book I have with all of the cello suites is: "Bach Solo-Suiten" Edition Peter's Nr. 238 Violincello (Becker)
The Cellist I love listening to play these is Janos Starker. I have a great recording of him playing all 6 suites plus 2 sonata's with Piano.

I am no where close to how amazing he and others play these two Bourree's but, that's okay. Take care- Jeff
