How to destroy a factory posi

Had the truck up at college in the snow. You dont see anything in this vid but afterward the rear diff was in many peices

There had to have been something wrong with that rear end before you did that, no way drifting in the snow will destroy even a stock rear end. My truck has the stock rear end with 200K miles and I can do that all day and not break it. The only thing you'll need to replace are the clutch pads.

@snakesonaplane2 Right but that's hardly dry pavement in the vid , but yes if your spinning your tires all sorts and suddenly grab traction you're introducing a high shock load to everything.

@chaseman113 you can break an axle shaft if you spin the tires fast and the tires grab pavement, that's like revving the engine in neutral and dropping the clutch, and FWD transaxles break even eaiser

thats not even a posi rear diff you can see it go to one wheel at most a lsd diff but prolly a open diff with snow most of the time both wheels will spin
