So heres the video I have been teasing many of you about for the past month or so. Finally able to upload it. I couldnt be more happy to have been the first to film on of these collecting dumpsters, and right outside the station in Oceanside. Huge thanks goes to the driver too.

So on this day, Scott and I met up in Oceanside, but I arrived first (about 7 in the morning) and good thing as the truck was literally right in front of the loading docks for the trains! Because of that I was able to follow the truck and film a bit. Had I been a little later, we might have missed this particular truck all together. For once, luck was on my side on that trip! woo!

One of many PODs that will be gone very soon. I am beyond happy to have gotten to see one in action in both commercial and residential. This wont be my last Oceanside trip, but likely the last time filming the PODs. So enjoy!

And yes, that was paint dripping through a rusted out hole in the body. The driver noticed after the cycle a 6:40, and told me where his next stop would be, and that he would be back in about 15 minutes, as he needed to change out for a different body since the pint dripping was pretty bad. Huge thanks again to the driver. A very friendly guy and professional guy. And yes, from the time he left to the time he returned with a new empty body, was only 15-20 minutes. Advantage of a POD system!

And the whining sound you hear at 9:03 and various other times in the video, is in fact the back up beeper malfunctioning. It was working alright in the morning, but got progressively worse as we followed him LOL

Sorry about the shaking, it was rather cold that morning

  • I figure these trucks are hell hard to find up there, so being right there upon getting off the train is bloody good luck! Haven't really seen much footage of a POD, but they're pretty cool little machines, gotta be the smallest FL built?! Shit that paint was pouring out of the body, looked hell bad! haha I've wondered, who built the actual chassis of the truck? Also is it a full blade or a half blade with follower? Awesome collection of shots, a truck that's one of a kind.

  • @MitchellM15 yea, I was definately pleased with my luck on this trip! Yea, the paint was really bad, from the time it happened until the time he switched bodies, you could literally follow a continuous line of paint through that whole section of his route. The blade is half with a follower I think* They also have crusher panels, Scott asked the driver to demonstrate it, however I waiting at the next house over and missed it! oh well. Chassis is an FWD. Not common at all. thanks for the comment!

  • WOW! Just WOW! I guess this video was simply meant to be... whats the odds of finding - a POD, right after getting off the train, it's running a commercial route, and the driver is friendly! I'm just stunned. Very cool! I'm surprised this doesn't have 1000 views already considering it's been up for almost a week... and who's the moron that clicked dislike?

  • @FormerWMDriver lol thanks! yea I thought it was awesome to see it right in front of the train, made my day a whole lot easier haha! My videos never get a whole lot of views. this is a pretty normal number of views for me in a week

  • @AlliedWaste76 nope. LNG tanks are far larger than diesel tanks and wouldnt fit on these trucks. these are as compact as it gets, no extra room around the frame and body to add that. but if they could i am sure they would have

  • @3amrepmike3 they could convert them to LNG fuel

  • @3amrepmike3 Ah, thats right... Thank god I do not live in California, here in Michigan it is pure diesel. It seems they really like the POD systems, since they are now using the automated PODs, perhaps some kind of new POD style front loader (powered by natural gas) will be comming soon.

  • @3amrepmike3 That's crap! I should give you some free advertising and see if that helps. This is a great find.
