My old, never-before flown glo-engined trainer plane, recently converted to electric power, flying beautifully.

  • aye shes a nice bird lad, how did you sort your balance when taking your engine out and putting in electric?

  • Hello Tutor4011,

Thanks so much for the compliment.

For balance, already knowing that it was tail-heavy before conversion, I made the firewall adaptor for the motor without concern for weight, using solid general-purpose plywood. A larger-than-needed battery was used too. With nose-weight it was still slightly tail-heavy as in the video. luckily it handled well enough. I've since move that nose-weight all the way beside the motor. The 60g motor also helps :>
