1986 Entry to the Shazam Music Video Competition in New Zealand while we were in the 5th form (15 years old) at Mt Roskill Grammar School.
Silicon Voices was a band created by David Peterson who also played and created all the music. He plays the hero.
Vocals, Video, and Chief Bad Guy: Trevor Mander
Henchman light coat: Mark Vrankovich
Henchman dark coat: Tony Falari
Hammer throwing: Jonathan Markley
"Drummer": David Scannell

Fun Facts:
Editing was with two VHS recorders without insert and took ages.
Didn't win because "the judges didn't like the guns."
Filmed partially in the Auckland Medical School and the tunnels.
Also filmed on top of Mt Roskill.
Organ Association Hall has since been demolished to make way for a motorway.
Video was so successful that next year the whole 6th form had to make videos.

  • I doubt I have any of the original material left that I did the edits from. I seem to think they were on some weird old format so if the tape still existed it would be a mission to find something that could play it.
