I would always start a war when this music started playing because it would make me feel like my armies were invinceable.Until one of those damn spearman would kill one of my modern armor tanks!

well its the taste of western classical music, if you hate it, you'll hate the civ4 soundtrack
personally i love the sound track of both, but i perfer civ 3 slightly over civ4, only cuz its more oriental, something becoming less common now a days

@Nagoragama you can resent all you want, i'm right..... civ IV was an insult to the civ III soundtrack.......... funny I should see this comment today because an hour ago i just tried to install civ IV back on my computer and it no longer runs..... i guess the game is behind the current technology

@DeliciousPoop I kind of resent the whole "civ IV music is crap" comment considering its soundtrack is composed, from the Classical period onward, from songs composed by some of the great master composers like Mozart, Beethoven, Dvorak, etc. Not trying to say Civ III has a bad soundtrack, because it doesn't, and I love it, but get some taste man.

@shimazu32 I always figured it sounded a little bit like the end of Stairway to Heaven, but I'm a complete Zephead so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

@operations1000 Wait, actually? Civ III's were awesome but Civ IV had Bach, Brahms, Beethoven, Dvorak... They aren't even in the same LEAGUE. Civ IV had far and away the best soundtrack of any Civ game because it used period pieces written by some of the greatest musical geniuses to ever live. Though I guess the modern stuff was a bit inaccessible. All IV's Ancient music is from III because (surprise) we haven't got any surviving music from that time period and people didn't like the silence.

i would love an at least DECENT soundtrack in civ V, you know...almost every music from civ III is EPIC
