@RoboSlater When celebs of any kind (actors, politicians, comedians, whatever) appear on these shows, including shows like Jay Leno's and David Letterman's, it's usually to promote a new movie, an appearance somewhere, a new book, something. It's not a paid performance. The show is pretty much obliged to mention the thing(s) the celeb is there to promote. Some celebs just make much more entertaining guests than others and you forget the purpose of their appearance. ;-)

What a shitty thing the Oprah show did, apparently they didn't care about who Paula was, all they thought of is that she was a name and could boost ratings. PP is an amazing comedian, very talented.

Out of everyone I've ever seen live, Paula Poundstone is hands down the funniest person ever. Most comedians do a 90 minute set. In San Diego, her stream of consciousness allowed her to keep going for another hour just working off of people in the audience. She finally said, "Shit, I gotta go.... I'm not supposed to be out of L.A. county overnight!"
