Thumbs up for barking 153!

Great locos and a great film!! These locos will definitiely gather a cult following - I know it!! Their looks, their sound and their limited numbers - a formula that always works (Deltics & Westerns). For a new generation of enthusiasts we have - The 70s!!
-
Definitly very ugly!

Holy poop. Incident, no! Indecent, yes! That's hideous. Kind of an attempt at an updated Class58. Hideous!

@bronzeonion it wasn't, he/she worded it in that way to get more hits. It's common bad practice on You Tube these days.

I quite like the look of it.
How was that an incident?

Just a little artistic licence my friend. 'Ugly' as in 'Ugly Betty locos'; 'Incident' as something that occurred. 'Incident' needn't always refer to a happening of major import incidentally - oh look - that's another example!

Yep, they're certainly quirky! As i said below, I rather like their 'characterful' looks. I don't think there's been an interesting looking new diesel loco in Britain since the 60s. These have a certain something.

Intriguing that comments range from "great looking loco" through to "ugly". Funny how they divide opinion. Even though I lazily used the word 'ugly' to echo the amusing 'Ugly Betty' name that was coined, i think from certain angles they're quite interesting - they have a slight 'nose' and have curves and lines at the front end that give them a certain style though I'll probably be shot down for saying so! Next to the 'Sheds', functional and featureless, I know which I think are uglier!
