My high school did this musical a few years ago (I didn't participate, I just watched). I don't get why it's so hard to find performances of some of the songs - they're really quite memorable.
Granted some of them (in my opinion) are not very good, but overall quite high quality.
Some I've noticed the actors(namely baritone types) including myself do during these anthem type solos is that they/we tend to focus too high. If the focus was pulled down a little bit more there may have been more of a connection. His head is also sort of disconnected from his body. It would be nice to have both. VERY nice voice!
This guy should do voice overs

If he didn't fidget so much it would be much better.

Are you insane? This guy doesn't sing as well as John Cullum's cat.

the guy singing is comparable to John Cullum , the original singer of these songs
