Iran My Answer to a Press Inquiry

Nothing can be answered in 30 second sound-bites or 24/7 videos coming from the western media - which will necessarily tow the already enshrined corporate line - no matter what the subject might be. Most western people are completely ignorant about the culture in this region, let alone western strong-arm tactics, including the over-throw of elected governments.
Most citizens everywhere, including the citizens in Iran, want to live in peace, despite internal differences with each other. They do not want something IMPOSED on them, either from within or from without. The US has NO business to interfere within the internal politics in Iran. But remember, even the orange revolutions of recent times in post-soviet countries where financed by the CIA, and ALL for geo-political purposes. It has nothing to do with the wishes of the population, which can be manipulated either way... So....CAUTION is always advised....

I remember talking to adults about the Cuban Crisis when I was about 7, LOL.

valhala56: yes, probably. Although I had no opinion on the Cuban Missile Crisis, which happened when I was six years old. My attention was focused on the moon-landing a few years later, 1969, when I was just a bit older. I remember being woken up by my father in the middle of the night (Germany) to watch everything LIVE. My father reassured me that no MONSTERS would be coming out anytime soon, except the ones how had just landed there. I didn't understand that comment until 10 years later.

Ella, come on. The listening post is an aljazeera program that focuses on the media. They have common people make short statements at the end of their show. I think you could have handled it just fine. Yes it is short, but you could make friends and they could call you back on a later show. That is how TV works, on deadline. You are a brilliant woman and you should have allowed more people to experience that. It really was not an impossible request. Ella, Ella... Oh well, that's that.

This is what I would say: Strength in Numbers and it is courageous that brave people have taken to the streets, you are not a number, you deserve freedom from the Rothschild Dynasty who wants us to be in the heat of battle with other good human beings. 30-40 seconds isn't long enough for something so important..I completely agree with your reply, although I think it would be great if you could get involved with something like this, they chose wisely at least :).

So far twitter seems silly to me, I use it for quick blurbs and links to news or Cspan..doesn't do much good for lengthy interaction, just sound bytes ;P

kvin44: thanks for your comment - and yes, I probably could have handled it just fine. But I do not like being HANDLED, and I do not regard tv programs such as this to be particularly useful. I am well aware of how TV works, the deadlines and so on, and I consider this to be PART of the problem, actually: Hardly anything on TV is in depth. But yes, 'common' people like me can make SHORT statements, + then get to appear on the next show, in order to keep up the illusions...
