This is a great fighter aircraft,better than Mirage-2000.

It is no more an LCA but a multi-role fighter plane ,suitable to air combat and also for Navy. It was originally meant only for air-superiority and dumb-bombing of targets. But as the expectations as well as demands of IAF went on growing, the "time delay" increased. Now, it is like a boon,75% is indegenus and better than even Mirage is produced. Mig21 is an old 1st generation aircraft while Tejas 4th gen fighter.

Although the LAC has been inducted with numbers of major defects as fighter aircraft but True Rome was not built in a day but that was rome. This rome (LCA ) the white elephant, the way its being going on for past 30 years, seems will not be get fully operational capability in next 5 years. But IAF can use this failed experience in future & can use this LCA as advance jet trainer or may be become beauty of museum or some public square to remind their 30 years of nonstop effort.

Pakis are jealous that india created an 4.5 gen Deltawing aircraft..This plane has more advantages and Less Disavantages...IT will be developed and upgraded..So PAKis do comment before you think.

Aviation Week has reported last year that Indian Light Combat Aircraft (LCA Tejas) fighter jet failed to meet performance requirements laid down by the service for the limited-profile Mk.1 platform.

They quoted an IAF official saying that Tejas will not be the fighter the air force had agreed to accept for limited squadron service. Parameters which were not met by the DRDO last year included sustained turn rate, speed at low altitude, angle of attack and certain weapon delivery profiles.

LCA is almost a failed project. IAF inducted it for face saving of INDIA and still under development.

India has become such a country, whose every indigenous project ended in failure with the waste of thousands of failed hours. Now india has inducted LCA in IAF in hurry even with its limited capability and defects just to save its FACE.

IAF has decide to induct 20 LCAs by 2017 with limited capability even lower then MiG21. India is repeating the same story of arjun and Murat.
