One can barely hear anything. AF is quick and there was never any hunting in daylight. In live view AF, it finds focus much faster than micromotor driven lenses like 35 f/2 or 50 f/1.8.

  • @ ptys007 .. have you heard about MANUAL FOCUS? that way you won't wake up your son using the autofocus from the camera

  • @jcfili have you ever tried manually focusing anything through a crop camera viewfinder in a dark room?

  • @ptys007 IT should be simple since you have a cannon with the Focus points in the view finder .. Once you get the red dot blinking on your viewfinder you know that you got it right

  • @jcfili I tried it, and it's very inaccurate. It only approximates the focus area. I think a focusing screen would be better, but a good quality one is costly...

  • i dont understand why people care about how quiet it is.. who gives a shit

  • @teamforteress Sometimes the difference is between getting and not getting the shot. I recently tried to photograph my kid while he was asleep on the bed twisted in a funny pretzel, and when I started focusing with a noisy lens, he woke up, and the moment was gone...

  • @Bigpotatos not true how can u manual focus on other events, such as the wedding, that have only a one second chance you think you can do that for every single shot?

  • @8255818730 and you manual focus to get the focus accurate, auto should be reserved to sports and street photography, that's it

  • @teamforteress i gives a shit if i like to shoot micro, thats mean i dont want the insects to fly away because of that fucking noise.

  • @teamforteress Imagine taking photos in a cathedral in europe, or at a wedding, or even some nature photography. The sound of the lens is going to play a role in the environment. People will be annoyed or you will just scared off or intimidate what your are trying to shoot. Plus eventually you will grow to hate the sound of being r2d2 on crack.

  • @elijahkhooct That's the sound of the IS working....

  • @teamforteress on macro photography is specially important to not scare the bugs away.
