@edmoore that's not even hard!

6:30 And that, kids, is the reason you practice your scales.

@otoevst Sounds like an excellent project. I know Chopin did the same with Polish folk music. And Liszt as well with Hungarian folk music. It's terrific and adds to the richness of classicism.

Aside the previous soul who managed to crack me up ( I am a former orchestra conductor myself!) the only clue I could see is the over waving of the Norwegian flag at the end. Might be worth doing a little research on the orchestras of Norway, and putting two & two together. This is a incredible performance, and as one other person had mentioned, parts of this actually takes my breath away! It is truly stunning and gorgeous in its simplicity. Greig was a master!!

Jesus of Nazareth, this never fails to piss me off. Is it REALLY ALL TOO MUCH TROUBLE TO POST THE NAMES OF THE DAMNED ORCHESTRA AND CONDUCTOR????
Aw gee, I guess so.

don't mind admitting this performance made be cry a bit! Beautiful interpetation. Thank you for sharring Suremate x
very much of this is based on Norwegian folk music really.. you can hear in the 3rd movement that he tries to imitate the Harding fiddle with "Halling-dance" rhythm and the springar at the end.
Much of Griegs project was to collect folk music an wrap it in classical style....
