you had the only tool that you needed in the other hand. Your channel locks are all you need. Open them up to fit the handle, give it a quarter turn and handsets will open right up! Only drill out deadbolts, a 1/4" drill bit is all you need. Just locate the screws (where they would be) and drill them out

I'm sorry but drilling that seemed completely unneeded... I mean I could have opened that door faster with a credit card or a supermarket rewards card and would have done NO damage to the door... What's weird is that this guy is locked out and just so happens to have a drill bit and power drill... but, no type of credit card

I just did what this guy did 20 mins ago and it worked lol. btw I destroyed 7 metal drill bits but they were crap quality did the job though ; )

Nice, But I wonder what the owner is goin to say when they get home?
-
what kind of drill bit do you use?
-
his right you just replace the lock cylinder. .

Call a locksmith, leave it to the professionals. I'm a locksmith & I NEVER drill a lock unless it's broken & un-pickable.

ROTFL "do not let the drill bit touch the doorknob-you will damage it" Who cares if you're already destroying the locking mechanism? It's not like you can fix the keyhole part.
-
times up.. you got busted
Actually, you can replace the keyhole part. The guy that's doing the drilling is a locksmith and the reason he is drilling the lock that way is because it only costs a few bucks to replace the lock portion instead of replacing the doorknob and lock.
