Going Publik

GoingPublik is a sound artwork for distributive ensemble and mobile score synthesis. The core idea behind the work is a strategy of mobility by employing a wearable computer system running a software based electronic scoring system. The score unfolds in real time as the performers make their way sonically through the domains of a city. The score itself basically allows for what might be termed 'composed improvisation' which permits improvisational elements within a compositional structure related to the structure of the city it is being performed in. The audience is the cities inhabitants the stage setting its streets, parks, buildings and unknown corners.
