No, I don't think that is correct. You are accessing an external website (mycast.orb.com) to facilitate the streaming. And it is mentioned several times that you can access your media files anywhere there is an internet connection. I may be looking at this wrong (I haven't installed the program, or investigated it too much). I would just like people to be prepared for the jump in bandwidth usage that may occur if this does indeed stream over the internet instead of within your local network

this is within network ..in the home,,,your using your routers wifi connection..not your internet connection ;) you will not be charged

Just curious, but won't this cause issues if you are on a capped ( or pay-per-GB ) internet connection and using this to stream from your desktop PC to your Playbook in the same location ?  You'll be getting charged double (once for upload, and once for download) of the video. Say you are streaming a 2GB video file, you'll be charged for 4GB total thoroughput. It would be nice to sometimes access your video files when away from home, but even then the video quality would probably suffer greatly.

Hey, thanks for the how to. That is awesome. I searched for something like this for a while. I still can't believe this actually works. And free! Playbook is awesome and Orb just made it a lot more so. At least for me, since i use it primarly for media consumption.

yea man i feel your pain. i love using my devices as a video player. Thankfully, the new OS has android apps so we're going to have a lot more choice ! Can't wait. fucking hate blackberry app world
