Dude.. I don't know where you get your info but the average hunting rifle is NOT a semi-automatic rifle that holds 17 rounds. The average hunting rifle is a bolt action rifle that holds 4 rounds.

It's being discussed not because it's an actual threat, since only like 200 people a year in the US die from "assault rifles" It's being done because it's harder for anyone to justify the right to keep an assault rifle. After they ban those, pistols will just look like another step, like no big deal.

Yet that's the point. From what I've been told (For I don't know personally) other than the bayonet and a 30 round mag instead of 17, there's no difference from your average hunting rifle. One pull of the trigger for each shot.

Yet, I'm not even sure why it's being discussed. It's simply not the State's place to disarm the populace, and I agree w/ you that the statists will indeed go after handguns next. Of course they will! That's why we shouldn't budge on this.

Yes, we all 'heard' that. We heard that the day of the shooting or the day after, when the media was reporting things with no verification at all. Unless you want to accuse the Chief Medical Examiner and the police as lying, (which you can do) the AR-15 was found in the school and killed everyone inside.

Ar-15's don't just look like M4s. They're the same things but just not full auto. They will try to take the handguns, taking assault rifles just seems more reasonable and they'll do that first.
