I do not have karelian heritage but I decided to make a video about it.
IF Russia is so-called Rechtsstaat it begins to return the forcefully ceded Finnish territories back to Finland! Karelia has always been inhabited by Finnish tribes and Russia has ALWAYS been in Finnish Karelia only as a conqueror. Finnish Karelia was administered by Finland since 1812. Across the border, the Karelian Workers' Commune (at present Republic of Karelia) had originally Finnish-related Karelians as majority, until during Soviet Union, genocide, population transfers, wars, and strong Russification changed the nature of Russian Karelia.

Finnish Karelia became empty in 1940 and 1944, when Karelian refugees moved to Western Finland to avoid certain death. Soviet Union transferred Slavic settlers to the area. Soviet Union ceased to exist in 1991, and for the time being Karelia remains under Russian Federation.

  • Hear! Hear! Right on the money! Would make no difference at all. A nation of 22 000 000 sqkm2

does not NEED a land area of 35 000 sqkm2; particularly so, when it was gained by sordid means.

  • Was't Karelia officialy SSR until 1956.? So if it was SSR, it has a right to cede from Russia as did Baltic states (Estonia) and to join to her native country Finland. Russia is the biggest country in the world. What does it matters if they give to Finland a little republic of Karelia?

  • @ElenaXVI Not only to the Europeans but to yourselves as well. Only a Russia and Russians can produce an Ivan the terrible, Peter the not so Great, Lenin, Catherine the not so great, autocracy, centralized despotism, serfdom, purges, famine, GULAG, third Rome theory, socialistic/collectivist messianism. The list goes on. Scourge of God? More like the scourge of Satan

  • @101Restoration Yeah! Us Russians are the scourge of God to the angel-like, blue-eyed Europeans.

  • @ElenaXVI Aint that the truth. Just study the history of Ukraine under tsarist russian and soviet russian rule and you will soon see the true Asiatic nature of the russian soul

  • Yeah, Molotov wasn't bombing Finnish cities... He was just giving us 'poor & inferior' people some cocktails.

  • As for Russia: it's not a rechtsstaat, it's an Asian despotism out to ass-rape every innocent European man and woman. Just to be clear, that thing that the Mayans predicted that's going to be in December 2012... is the Russian invasion. So if I were you I'd build some bunkers and buy a chastity belt. If you want to save your virginity.

  • @obuBBubo Sure he wanted to, I never denied it. It's called imperialism and it occurs when a country is industrializing and tries to grab as many resources as possible. Take any European country - same story. So you don't have to take it personal. In fact, it offers a lot of psychological advantages. You Finns are a meek innocent blue-eyed freedom-lovin' nation and us Russians are blood-thirsty baby-rapin' evil Asians.

Now doesn't that make you feel good.

  • @ElenaXVI Secondly, Finnish ass was saved by the Finnish army at Tali/Ihantala/Ilomantsi in 1944.

"We were STOPPED by that #!@# Finnish army" (Molotov).

"After the DEFEAT of our forces in 1944, Stalin lost his nerve" (Krushchev).

"Without USA industrial help, we couldn't win the war" (Stalin).

Conclusion: You're wrong on EVERY point you're asserting.
