@eastkyfred true , I live just across the hill in Floyd county and we never got any rain to amount to anything . With the amount of rain these areas got in the short period of time they had no hope , it was just get out of the way . Same here when it happens we got it last May but our hollow is short and we tend to just lose our road the homes don't tend to be effected thank God . I have some photos on my face book page you are welcome to use of the Meta , let me know if you need them via email

Excellent video & a great choice of music ! Our mountains are such a beautiful place to live but when the storms hang or train in them we can never let our guard down . I still would not trade them for any place I know of .
How did that area fair this July ?

as best as I know, it was still dry, a lot of homes have created a basement where the home use to be at. my home area, well, the area flooded again on blackburn bottom, but the water barely got up in the corn field, about ranking about 12th out of 26 years at my home. raccoon, ky, different story, done pictures last in the flood zone area, really bad. fishtrp opened the gates, but was bigger last year, was probably about 6 INCHES above summer pool, nothing new.

ironically as you start to watch the video, the water in the spill way is orange, yet the lake is green. belfry, ky was hit really bad. hard to think that the water was up so much, yet the last time the water was up near williamson, ky it almost went over the flood wall, but belfry did not flood as bad before. so much water at 1 time so fast and no where to go but rising up.
