Indeed this Ved Mantra is divine and made for humans. The peaceniks and environmentalists will find here whatever they wish for. The mantra has eleven short sentences ten complete in themselves but the eleventh one about man seeking peace relies on the previous ten. When the celestial bodies, the elements of nature and the Brahm Jnyan are harmony personified, why is man bereft of it? He craves for peace or Shantih but it eludes him. Why? It sets us thinking.

I'm in the USA came here when I was in 6th grade, I vaguely remember watching this series with my grandfather in India who passed on. My mom got the series so we could watch them together and she could kinda explain as we watched, the language is a little difficult for me at times. I dont understand why they didnt teach us about this kinda stuff more in India rather than 10 years of Independence stuff...This is possibly the best Indian anything I have ever watched. Chanakya is a amazing series

Dear Friend: My inention is not to find fault. I am just drawing your attention to a possible error. I think it should read ".......shannah: kuru.....". My apologies if I am wrong.
The entire sloka would read as "Yato yata samihase, tato namh, abhayam kuru, shanah: kuru prajabhyo, Bhayannah pashubhyah, su shantir bhavatoo, su shantir bhavatoo, su shantir bhavatoo, Om"

@monsterraghs the muslims also let their girls divorce and they get money upon divorce, i wonder, why the hindus of that time didn't take that as well. one more thing, i think muslims eat halal food, why didn't hindus start eating halal food too, and they ate beef, why didn't hindus eat beef too. C'mon stop simplifying traditions and blaming it on one community. Why don't hindus practice swamwara still, why don't some brahmins eat with low castes as Krishna did? ignorant people .

@aanandamaharishi Wow! Thats the correct "translation" - the one I was looking for. All the other are mere "transliteration" - a mere word by word language substitution. You're the only one, who has given some actual hint towards the "vhawarth" of this great slok.
Yes, all the three lines say the same thing, but using slightly different words. Its in the third line, that we get a glimpse of the real meaning of this slok. Thank you sir, for the translation.
