Silence is golden, or so they say. But keeping people quiet in a library can be a real challenge. In this short instructional film, Weasel Televisual Enterprises explores the challenges faced by librarians the world over to keep their domains peaceful. Shhhhhhhhhhh!

  • I should have shown this to the library administrator of at my university when I had a chat with her about changing the rules BACK to the way they were a couple years before. She pointed out that the MODERN person needs a community center more than a quiet place to live. Quiet places?! Those only exist if you have so much money you can build yourself a study. How quaint of me to think that silent reading and silent problem solving can be done with out the aid of Google or Steve Jobs...

  • @MinisterAilingTongue I've always found the stacks about the only silent place in a modern library. Rolling stacks are good as you can cocoon yourself in them and get a friend to close them behind you...

  • I love this. I will post to my blog tomorrow if its ok with you/\

thanks - i love your stuff.

  • Glad you liked it, and thanks for the linkage - the more people learn about the weasel (and co) the better! I actually used this vid as part of a workshop I ran for librarians on screenwriting and video production last week over at Staffordshire Uni, so it's getting a bit of extra exposure!

  • I say that Weasel is a splendid chappie. None of the noisy dreadful business. You''l never see dwarfs working a libraries... for obvious reasons. I like to have some tea and bit of crumpet while listening to the gramaphone. Awfully fun stuff - just let the little ladies spoil the fun with their opinions on the news. What next? The vote for the fairer sex hahaha. Pass the opium pipe my good man....

  • Spiffing comment old boy, toatally and utterlly spiffing. Pip pip and cherrio.

  • Glad you liked it :)

  • Excellent!

  • Pikachu only makes to odd appearance as he's flipping hard to hold without squeeking - which for this one wasn't a problem!

  • Fantastic! And a random Pikachu! He's not in the usual cast of characters!
