@emilyfaithbailey I'm presuming so. If he doesn't, I would be very surprised. Most/all professionals do. (and most students with private teachers, once they get to that level) I've checked out your videos. Did you start on oboe or have you switched from another instrument? You're pretty good for only having played a few weeks (said in the description of your twinkle twinkle little star video) Keep at it!

@Tamster107 If you consistantly practice on just one reed, it becomes worn out and too easy. Often the intonation starts to slip when a reed gets old, and beginner oboists will try and pitch the reed in their mouth to try and keep the intonation controlled. If you are a beginner, I advise getting a private teacher to help you with connecting your notes (tip: more air... blow throughhh the notes) and to help you see if you're either doing something wrong or if your oboe needs repair.

@Tamster107 How long an oboe reed lasts before it dies depends on how much you practice and how you made the reed. I've heard from my teacher that many professionals make a reed for one concert and then toss it out. It also depends on how hardy the reed is. Some of my reeds still sound beautiful after a month... and some only last a week. But typically they don't ever last beyond a month. And that's when I have 7-8 reeds I keep switching to practice on. I

@Tamster107 Don't soak it in your mouth. The best thing to have in your case/oboe bag is an empty film canister/pill bottle/small tupperware.... I also keep a shot glass near my practice area XD to fill with warm (clean) water to soak your reeds in. (don't soak them for too long or they'll become too wide and won't respond!) it doesn't take long to soak them in water... and it's MUCH better than soaking them in saliva (and it's actually quicker.)
