So you said you could build one for someone.. so about how much would you charge to do that?

This lady got recognized by the President of India for her simple washing machine: Search on Youtube for: Remya Jose's Pedal Washing Machine

i have to give you props for building this. You had the creativity to not only build a washer, but you are also getting fit while at it. much respects and are you going to build anymore stuff?

Sweet design, and big up Dr. Bronner's castile soap!

great video! thank you...you were kidding about the solar powered clothes dryer right? because here in florida we just call that a clothes line :) anyway could you possibly post a list of parts that were required for this project?
Thanks again & GREAT video!

You rock!

how do you make this?
Curious how do you call the bearings that are mounted? The 2 holding the crank rod in place?

@jk4bs They're called pillow box bearings. I found them at a specialty industrial drive-train manufacturer in Seattle, which was a stroke of luck. I think some automotive shops may have them or be able to point you in the right direction. There are a bunch if different shaped and sizes, it's just a matter of finding something the right size for whatever your axle is.

Pretty Cool, makes me want to construct my design for a clothes washer.
I think I can use fewer parts and no welding.
Soon after testing, I'll post a vid of my wind powered tumble clothes dryer.
A clothes line is good, but my "Clothes Whirly" is a lot of fun to watch.

@ufoengines Clothes Whirly, eh? I'd love to see that. It tends to stay pretty cloudy up here, and anything we can do to speed up the drying process sounds worth the effort. Keep me posted!

This is sweet..do you have instructions somewhere? For instance, how do the two steel pipes that go into the inner barrel attach on each side? Just threaded in? Did you seal the ends of the 55 gal drum? Looks fun...

@6thsundown
The steel axle is attached on one side by being threaded into the bung hole. We built a brace for the other side and attached it with bolts.
We're working on a more thorough, step-by-step video. Stay tuned!
