July 21, 2011 "Bed Making Skit" performed by Alliance for Quality of Life members and Local 5 hotel workers as a part of the Hyatt Housekeepers National Day of Action in Waikiki in front of Hyatt.
Hyatt housekeepers nationwide are stepping out of the shadows to demand an end to the abuses they face at work. Hyatt has eliminated jobs, replaced career housekeepers with minimum wage temporary workers, and imposed dangerous workloads on those housekeepers who remain. In response, thousands of workers and supporters participated in protests in nine cities nationwide: San Francisco, Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, Indianapolis, San Antonio, Phoenix, Los Angeles, and Honolulu.
Many actions focused on Hyatt's abuse of housekeepers, with bed-making demonstrations and other activities spotlighting the health hazards associated with housekeeping work
