The problem with going off Remicade is that you build antibodies to it. So if you stop and have a flare up, you might not be able to help it with Remicade. I was on steriods and it ddn't stop the flare. Took Remicade and so far so good.

Do you know someone who was on remicade for abouth 2, 3 years, turn off from remicade, and was in remision for a long time. Because I will be on remicade 2 years and after that doctors wil tur me off and will be taking only Asacol...

Why does it cost so much?

@jpammy75 I'm not exactly sure why, but I do know that the drug is biological, made using animal proteins, so that might be part of the expense. Also, it's not a widely used drug. The more a drug is used by people, the less expensive it is in general.

I started Remicade yesterday how long do I have to wait for some improvement?

@PatarPuffles It depends for everybody. When I started Remicade I showed some improvement right away, but then again, I had also been on steroids for two weeks prior, so was it the Remicade working or was it the steroids finally kicking in? I think a little of both.
