@spacetonic I just got my brown belt in judo ( yesterday) and i use the sitting guard quite often in my judo fights / randori's alot of Judoka these days dont know how to react to it and tend to stay in the guard way to long which gives me an oppurtunity of easy submission holds, i actually learned that guard from watching BJJ on youtube and then practising it in randori :)

This video is a little unfair, of course the BJJ Blue is going to win on the ground, what's not shown is the Judo guy could probably throw him so hard it would knock him unconscious and break bones without ever hitting the ground himself

@straightoutofwar plz stop the "I'm in the service" schpeel. You and hundreds of thousands of people have been in the service and deployed. You must be brand new. There are plenty of people in all branches of the military who DO NOT like hand to hand fighting at all

Maybe my service will take me to Italy one day so we can actually fight and train some day. That would be awesome.. My Sgt that helps me with my kickboxing was from Naples. Best wishes bro, talk to you soon.

And If I ever got the chance to fight/spar you... I'd take it in a heart beat, and no matter how it ended I'd go out for a beer with you after so we could laugh about it, and go over each others fight game, talk about things that we could do better, and swap tricks and tactics.... I'm not a bad guy, and really I don't think you are either...I think the argument just was out of a misunderstanding. I know you're in Italy, but I'd like to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving none the less.

Listen, I guess it is a different way of thinking... people like me and maybe others in the service do like hardcore physical competition, and maybe some of us (like myself) do find combat sports and little scuffles here and there highly entertaining. It's because that kind of fighting is a game when you think about what we face when we are deployed, and I enjoy a good wordy back and forth now and again...call me crazy. But we are loyal, and a tight nit group...you get to know us and we're ok.
Why don't you just get the fuck outta here?! You're not worth a reply!!!

I'm not worth a reply, yet you continue to do so.... and seeing as how you have nothing to come back at me with other than baseless hostility I guess you took what I had to say to heart. It's OK man, I understand you got heated and flew off the handle without thinking, it can happen to anyone. I forgive you.

@StraightoutofWar My hostility, if that is so, comes from your comments and violent wishful thinking. To be honest I have not taken anything 'to heart' as you say and that is why I am still coming back to you. The only think which I do care it's about you man: this jar-head attitude is totally out of my understanding and I am somehow upset that there are still young people that reason the way you do (competitve). This is a matter I do care and is not realted to BJJ but our generation in gereal.

You should have started standing up, so he could have slammed your head into the mat.

@StraightoutofWar We actually did start many matches standing and your wish did not happen at all. Actually he didn't really manage to capitalize any clear takedowns. Few time we went to the ground I ended up on his back or full guard etc.
I wish you were able to fulfil your wish personally!!!

@spacetonic I cant really slam people. I train a lot of striking and I'm just getting into getting comfortable with BJJ, I tend to use a lot of Bravo's Rubber guard but people say it's going to handicap me in higher levels of Jiujitsu.... guess we'll see. So slamming...maybe not... unless you count slamming my shin into your quad.
P.S while I was rooting for a judo slam, I do like how you started going from your knees to a seated position to assure you'd get guard. I've never tried that before

@StraightoutofWar So you are surprised about the sitting guard?! Ironic as this proves you're a newbie in the sport and yet you threaten me with your striking. Honestly, maybe this is the war attitude or something but just chill and try to learn something Don't be overconfident cause even masters got something to learn, let aside someone like you that just started grappling!
