  • Positive Behavior Support Works!

22 states currently have no law regarding restraint and seclusion in public schools.

Please contact your lawmakers and demand change!

  • THANK YOU. finally after 11 years (a video was made on 1-23-1998 of my child at age 10 years old being abused by teachers in her public school on Cape Cod. She is pictured in this video here and I am glad somebody finally cares .

  • We are talking about the public school system.

  • I work in a residential facility where we utilize such restraints and seclusions it is terrible that sometimes we as direct care staff have to utilize physical restraints but it is for the safty of the child. A few examples are a young lady was going to burn ber hand with an iron, a young lady was turning blue tying objects around her throat. I have seen scary terrible things. I have helped and healed as well. Most importantly I have saved lives.

  • @jbcape26 i am soo sorry that happend to you. my 7yr old daughter was placed in prone in her special needs classroom here in bakersfield,ca where we live. and i contacted our local news station about it. have an interview tomorrow. my daughter is okay except minor brusing and major humiliation by her teachers. its so UNNACCEPTABLE that its even legal. makes you want to homeschool. just know you are not alone Jean. thank you for sharing.

  • @ff8123 what kind of parent are you? I have to wonder about why this has happened to my child I pulled him out of school 6 times and you sit there saying your child is dangerous..well my child is only acting out from what has been done to him...dear God, what is this world coming to when a parent doe not come to aid in the defens of their ownchild?

  • either that or he'll try pring his own eyes out with a pencil or letter opener. I am thankful to the brave teachers left in america who would restrain a child from bodily harm, and the schools who understand that a DANGEROUS child should be locked in a room, before they mame/murder someone.

  • When he does this, he usually locks himself in and begins screaming "i wanna throw up, Im going in the toilet", i get through the locked door, slap him across the face, and drag him out of the bathroom. When the child acts in clear defiance, you have to overpower them. PERIOD. do not BEAT them. But in this case, what am I to do? hes locked himself in the bathroom. he loves flushing items down the toilet breaking it.

I WANT him in a school with a padded room with teachers who can restrain him!

  • Lets NOT restrain kids when they go OUT OF CONTROL and present a clerar danger to those around them and themselves.

I dont care if they were autistic or not. If they're going to harmn themselves you have to restrain them in the short term until they are able to receive proper therapy. But if the child is in an insane rage / meltdown, you RESTRAIN THEM BY FORCE, or they could hurt themself or a classmate.

My nephew is autistic, and on occasion, he refuses to leave the bathroom
