Ernie Coombs played Mr. Dressup on television for almost 30 years. He died in 2001. The show Mr. Dressup still airs in reruns. Millions of Canadian children grew up watching this Icon, and remember him, Casey, Finnigan, Aunt Bird, Truffles, Chester, Aligator Al, and the rest of the gang. If you are a Mr. Dressup and a Tickle Trunk fan, let others know about this original creation to spread the word.

  • Thanks to the maker of this video. Things like this are a fantastic tribute to Dad's work. Thanks everyone...Ernie's son Chris

  • Dear Chris, I met your sister. I was the guy that interviewed your dad 4 weeks before his passing. Your sister has a copy of my master thesis that was dedicated to his memory, as well as a copy of my interview with him. Your dad was a great man.

  • Children's television just isn't the same since Mr Dressup passed away. It's sad to say that childrens tv doesn't inspire kids to pretend and dressup and use their imaginations like we all did as young children.. and I'm 36.. and iwatched him every morning

  • Hells yeah. I grew up in Depew, NY (suburb of Buffalo) and I watched Mr. Dressup RELIGOUSLY. (before my nap...) Ernie Coombs was the best guy ever. Mr. Rodgers didn't have shit on Mr. Dressup. Right now, they're doing a joint children's program in Heaven.
