I read the article, it's not new.
There has to be a guideline what illness gets priority. Money spent to cover 100 patients which has 100% success rate should get priority than the same money spent to save 1 patient which has 5% success rate. Of course, it won't be a problem if you pay your own money.
Current situation we have. Insurance companies hire adjuster to deny treatment or drop the policy only based on the profitability.
