If you're unfamiliar with developing negatives in a darkroom, the dodge and burn tool might first appear to be a fast and easy way to shade your images. This isn't the case, as this video explains. It's less of an example video, more of an informative lecture hehe.

  • Interesting. I know how the dodge and burn tool works but I never knew that their main purpose was to simulate a dark room for photography as you have mentioned. I always thought it was just another tool that does this particular function. Cool stuff.
