The "way" is the Hebrew word דרך which is literally a trail or path. In a figurative sense it is the "manner" that things are done.

Lord

The Hebrew behind the word LORD (when it is written in all uppercase letters) is four Hebrew letters, yud-hey-vav-hey and is most often pronounced as Yahweh. Because all Hebrew names are Hebrew words with meaning, the focus on Yahweh should not be its pronunciation, but its meaning, as a Hebrew name reflects the character of the individual. This name includes the verb havah meaning "to exist" and the letter yud as a prefix which means "he" - "he exists."

In the Ancient Hebrew mind, only that which can be seen or experienced actually exists, everything else "doesn't exist." This is in contrast to the Greek mind which theorizes and attempts to find and explain that which cannot be experienced. When Yahweh was sending Moses back to Egypt Moses said "If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, `The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they ask me, `What is his name?' what shall I say to them?" From the Israelites perspective, Yahweh did not exist as they had never seen or experienced him. So Yahweh told Moses "ehyeh asher ehyeh" which can be translated as "I am the one who exists because I am the existing one."

Do

The Heberew verb עסה is used very frequently in the Hebrew text, about 3,000 times. The parent root of this verb is the letters ayin and sin. The ayin is a picture of an eye and can mean experience, as you "experience" the world around you with your eyes. The sin is a picture of a thorn. When these two letters are combined they mean "experience the thorn."

The first time man experienced the thorn is in Genesis 3 which states that because of Adam's sin, the land will produce thorns and he must now "work" to bring forth its produce.

The verb עשה literally means "to do" something. In the context of "doing a trail" it means to "walk in the trail" or "follow the trail."

Justice

While the Hebrew word tsedeqah is translated as "justice" in the KJV here, the KJV usually translates this word as "righteousness" such as we have previously seen in Deut 6:25.

The words Justice and righteousness are abstract terms, but since all Hebrew words are rooted in something concrete, we must understand the more concrete meaning of the Hebrew word behind these translations. The first letter in the Hebrew word צדקה is the tsade again, the picture of a trail. The Hebraic definition of this word is to be on "the correct trail." Let's look at Deut 6:25 again with this definition of tsedeqah. "And the correct trail (tsedeqah) will be for us, if we are careful to follow (asah) all these directions (mitsvah) in front of Yahweh our God just as he directed (tsavah) us."

A word that is often paralleled with tsedeqah is the Hebrew word רשע, usually translated as "wickedness." While tsedeqah is being on the correct trail, rasha is literally "leaving or being lost from the trail. Proverbs 11:5 - The mature one walking in the correct trail will make his path straight, but the lost one leaving the trail will fall.

Judgment

The last word in Genesis 18:19 is "justice" and is the Hebrew word משפט.

When you come to a fork in the trail you must decide which fork to take and the word משפט means "to make a decision" to "choose the correct fork in the trail." How do you know which fork in the trail to take? By following the directions that you have been given.

Remember the letter tsade? In that pictograph is a juncture of two trails. In every trail, whether literal or figurative, decisions must be made.

Conclusion

We began by looking at the KJV of Genesis 18:19 - For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment. Now that we have examined each of the words in Genesis 18:19 from its original Hebraic perspectives, let us translate this verse more concretely.

For I know him, that he will provide the directions to the trail to his children and his household after him, and they will maintain the trail of YHWH by following the correct path and choosing the correct fork in the trail.

Our Western mind often views "The Way of Yahweh" in abstract terms by placing emphasis on doctrine and theology, in other words "how you think." But The way of YHWH is not about what you think, but what you do. He has provided us with the directions for his trail and it is our responsibility to follow those directions and teach them to our children.

All that has been discussed thus far is the Hebrew concept of "Torah," a Hebrew word that we will be examining in detail next.

  • @yomamasofat87 No, Gabriel is the angel of revelation, he sends the words of God to man. its not the words of Gabriel, he is the noble angel who sends it to the prophet. Jesus son of mary was created like Adam. Kun faya Koon. God said : Be and He Was. Ill message you two biographies, one of Jesus and his cousin, John, and Moses, peace be upon them. KalimAllah, and Ruhallah.

  • @yomamasofat87 so do you believe in Allah?

  • @ViciousBeats16 where as through jesus and muhammad only a few people heard.

and so it became christianity and it became Islam. am i correct in saying that Muhammad received devine revelation from Gabriel not g-d? where as moses received the Torah directly from G-d on Mt Sinai...and Jesus was somehow conceived through marry who G-d impregnated -____- how was jesus born prove to me how he existed and maybe i will accept him as a prophet. until then i will stick to Judaism.

  • @ViciousBeats16 okay first of all jesus "christ" is not a name. its a title given to kings and prophets, secondly Jesus is never spoken of anywhere in the tanach, neither is muhammad for that matter, thirdly jesus never completed any of the prophecies stated in the tanach, what makes moses a prophet is that he was before a huge crowd of hebrews and egyptians when he gave the torah on mt sinai.

  • @yomamasofat87 ok, i can agree, its an ummah, but today El Shaddai has obliged us to follow the prophet of our time, Muhammad (saas). What makes Jesus christ alayhi salam not the Messenger of God, what makes Moses pbuh a prophet of God, whats the difference, i dont get why jews dont believe in Christ. Please let me know whats stopping you from accepting Islam. gimme a list of reasons.

  • @ViciousBeats16 so how do i know if jesus was a true messenger of g-d?, and how do i know if muhammad is a true messanger of g-d? the prophets may change...but the Torah of HaShem is for eternity,as it is written....and no jewish is an Umma. not a race.

  • @ViciousBeats16 if one should realize that the fight is not on the outside, but from within us...you would know true wisdom.

in the words of our great L-rd KIng David:

The fear of YHWH is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments; His praise endures forever.

    shalom.

  • @ViciousBeats16 G-d does not look at what religion one follows G-d sees what is the intentions of his heart. all hashem wants is for humanity to follow his Torah nothing else, the heart of man is wicked and so his torah teaches us restraint...as the muslim obeys Allahs instruction so to must the jew...If we all adhear to the commands of the almighty one it would be better with us, then we may find shalom, salam

all i wish my brother is for us to end this foolish war that we have started.

  • @yomamasofat87 buddy we follow our prophets, dont distuguish between Allah's messengers. Moses alayhi salam is of |slam. golly the Quran could have been called the Book of Moses story. To be jewish is not really a religion, its Islam, La ilaha illal lah, Moses wa rasul allah. and you follow the scripture (Torah). but know its a new time and era of Prophethood. Quran and Muhammad (saas).

  • @ViciousBeats16 during that time he learned a great many things. i taught him how similar the jewish religion is to the muslims, you are both brothers, even though you follow different prophets you both worship the same g-d. g-d is not a duality or a multiplicity or a trinity. abram father of the jews and muslims was the founder of monotheism our ONE and only G-d. why should i accept one religion over the other? is G-d a an elah of partiality? heaven forbid this.
